Jeffrey Musich, PE, ENV SP, a Senior Vice President and Water Practice Group Leader at Wright-Pierce, was recently awarded the Jim Doherty Excellence in Volunteerism Award by the Maine Water Utilities Association (MWUA).

Jeff is a seasoned engineer with more than 33 years of experience in the design, construction and operation of highly innovative water-focused projects. His design and construction experience includes many large, complex water projects including dam rehabilitation, master planning studies, distribution system studies, water treatment facilities and pumping stations.

In his role as Water Practice Group Leader, Jeff has mentored many young engineers sharing his commitment to the protection of our water resources and the improvement of water quality, world-wide. Jeff has also extended his hand and expertise for over ten years through his volunteer work in Haiti as a lead member of the Konbit Sante Cap-Haitien Health Partnership program. This program, with Jeff and other volunteers’ efforts, has been instrumental in improving the water quality and sanitation for the people of Haiti through the construction of wells and other related water infrastructure projects.

According to Rick Davee, a fellow Senior Vice President and Water Group Leader at Wright-Pierce, “the Jim Doherty Excellence in Volunteerism Award is given to a person who goes ’above and beyond.’ Jim was known for his patience; he would take the time to listen and help anyone who asked for assistance. Likewise, Jeff, despite his many responsibilities, is always available and ready to help. Whether it is a water system superintendent with a water supply concern or a co‐worker experiencing a home water-quality issue, Jeff takes the time to listen and has the knowledge base to effectively problem solve. His work in Haiti over the years reflects his spirit of volunteerism and his broad-minded commitment to supporting global efforts to provide clean water to everyone.”
