Wright-Pierce, doing business as Wright-Pierce Engineering Consultants, PC, has expanded into New York state with the opening of a Saratoga Springs office.
According to Wright-Pierce President and CEO, John Braccio, “Water and wastewater infrastructure in the Hudson Valley and Capital regions, as in the greater Northeast, is aging and environmental regulations continue to evolve. These factors put increased demand on the existing infrastructure and natural resources. Our decision to open an office in Saratoga Springs is consistent with our plan to continue serving communities facing these infrastructure challenges.”
Dylan Thisse, Lead Project Engineer based in Saratoga Springs, commented “Our goal is to provide responsive, efficient, and cost-effective water and wastewater engineering services to help protect public health and the environment, and to support economic development of the communities we serve. We’re working on projects now in the Hudson Valley and Capital regions to advance these goals.”
Wright-Pierce is currently working with the Washington County Sewer District to rehabilitate existing sewer infrastructure and to consolidate two sewer districts. The goals of this project are to facilitate more efficient long-term management of the existing systems, reduce infiltration and inflow to the collection system, and reduce downstream combined sewer overflows.
In Poughkeepsie, Wright-Pierce is working with Veolia North America to develop a Mercury Pollution Minimization Program for the City in order to comply with their New York State Discharge Permit requirements. This program will help to minimize or eliminate mercury from wastewater discharges by conducting a systematic assessment of the sources of mercury in the City’s sanitary sewer system to the wastewater treatment facility.
