Description:

The work consists of the installation of a submersible well pump with a pitiless adapter and associated raw water piping and electrical equipment, construction of a new 1.152-MGD water treatment plant, the Bergstrom Well Water Treatment Plant in Bethel, Connecticut. The treatment process includes a GreensandPlusTM pressure filtration system for iron and manganese removal, chemical feed systems, backwash recycling system, settled solids waste system, backwash source supply tank, backwash recycle tank, wastewater and residual pump stations, and ancillary equipment and controls. The building also includes an operations area containing office/laboratory, laboratory, blower/mechanical room and an electrical room.

Also included in the project is construction of stormwater control systems, soil improvements, raw and finish water mains, connection to the existing distribution piping, site restoration and miscellaneous work and cleanup to provide a complete and fully operational water treatment plant.
