Valerie Giguere, PE, has joined Wright-Pierce as a Senior Project Manager in their Wastewater Practice Group.

Valerie has been working on wastewater treatment, collection, and pumping projects in New England for over 35 years. Her expertise in this area directly compliments the work Wright-Pierce has provided to municipalities and utilities for the last 75 years. She will utilize this experience as she continues to serve municipalities and utilities throughout the Northeast with a primary focus in Maine.

When asked “Why Wright-Pierce?” Valerie responded, “Wright-Pierce has this ‘let’s go’ energy. I’ve seen how the company has grown over the years and how open minded they are to what people want and need to grow in their careers.” Valerie also noted her eagerness to work on more wastewater treatment facilities (WWTF) and other projects that will leverage her expertise.

Wright-Pierce’s Maine Wastewater Group Leader, Chris Dwinal, PE, expressed excitement about Valerie joining, “It’s great to have someone with so much experience joining the team. Valerie is an extremely hard worker with a strong focus on client relations. Since joining us, she has already begun working on several projects, including work for the Wells Sanitary District, Ogunquit Sewer District, and South Berwick Sewer District.”

One of Valerie’s first projects is the ongoing upgrades to the Ogunquit Sewer District’s WWTF. This work includes evaluating dewatering upgrade options to increase the solids content of the sludge to lower the District’s costs for trucking and disposal in anticipation of cost increases due to PFAS regulations in Maine.
